It was the day of Indian Premier League auctions. The owners of the IPL teams that included some celebrities as well got together at Mumbai’s Hilton Towers. More than 70 players from different test playing cricket nations were on sale for the takers. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the most wanted man on the day with the bid going upto $1.5 Million, Symonds a near second with $1.35 Million. The top three of the Indian cricket - Sachin, Saurav and Dravid were kept as icon players. There was no bidding for the icon players as they were supposed to play for their respective cities. The surprise of the day was Mcgrath who found no takers in the first round of bid. The first match of IPL will take place on April 18th 2008.
